Hello, my name is Annabelle Mullins. I have just moved from the United States to Denmark in the last year, which has changed me as a person. It has made me very independent and strong, as I have had to start learning a new language and creating a new social circle. I would say I have successfully done both, as I have made amazing new friends and have advanced my Danish skills exponentially (thanks to the help of GoTutor). I love reading and listening to podcasts, and recently I have even been challenging myself to start doing these hobbies in Danish. However, there is no doubt that English is the language I am most proficient in. My entire life, I have been an A student, and have always helped my peers with their studies. When I was in 8th grade, I was a paid tutor for a 4th grader, helping him with his math skills and helping him understand the basics. All throughout high school, I volunteered as a tutor for the subjects of history, politics, and English. I met up with my fellow peers at least once a week to help them write essays or to help them better understand difficult political concepts. In my senior year of high school, I was nominated by my school to become a teacher's assistant in the subject of United States History. This means I would help prepare lessons, teach in front of an entire class, and help grade essays. While doing all of this extra work for my school, I was able to maintain A's in every subject for my own transcript. I love helping others with their work and it is something that I feel comes naturally to me. Tutoring is something I have been doing my entire life and I would love to continue my passion here in Denmark. While I can only teach in English, I believe it would be beneficial for the other students to learn from a native speaker who can truly help them develop their skills. As English can have difficult grammatical rules, I could help students proofread their essays and give them suggestions on how to make an essay come alive.
