Hi, my name is Kayla. I'm an engineering student at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet. I grew up in a very international environment which has taught me how to interact with people from all backgrounds.
I speak English and French fluently as well as some Danish, I also play the piano and I highly enjoy baking. I'm a very social and friendly person, I love talking to people and have always enjoyed helping my classmates. I've been told by them that I am really good at explaining complicated topics and that they could always count on me to make things less confusing.
As a teacher/tutor, I am patient and take the time to understand what is confusing, how the student is looking at the problem, how the student thinks, how I could restructure/rephrase the problem which all allows me to find the best way to help the student in understanding the problem/topics while also giving them the tools to problem-solve independently. I have been a babysitter for kids between 0 and 12 for a few years which has really taught me how to work with younger kids, and I also have some experience in tutoring primary school (folkeskole) students, though I haven't worked with teenagers yet, I myself am a teenager so I'm confident that I can also help older students.
I am a homework helper at GoTutor, because I love helping people, I love interacting with people, and I think I could benefit students who are struggling. I have a very strong appreciation for math but I know that many people struggle with the subject, many times because it isn't taught in the best way, I hope that I can change that for someone.
