Hello there! :)
My name is Renata and I hope to be your new tutor! :)
I am of Hungarian nationality, but I have lived in quite a few countries so far. I ended up in Denmark after I was accepted as a European Solidarity Corps volunteering teaching assistant in an international efterskole in West Jutland. Originally, I had a contract for one year, but I loved it so much that I convinced my school to let me stay for another year. In these two years, I literally fell in love with this fairytale country (that has some interesting traditions). :)
My education: I have two bachelor's degrees. One of them is in Literary studies and the other is a teaching degree in German language and literature. Also, I have a master's in Cultural studies. Apart from university education, I have a TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) degree and two Cambridge IGCSE teaching diplomas in Global Perspectives and Literature in English.
My experience as a teacher: I've been teaching for approximately 10 years now, including private tutoring, teaching in a high school, teaching in a kindergarten, and in an international school. I had students of so many different age groups and so many different purposes. Some of them needed help with improving class performance, some needed English or German for an entrance exam or university leaving exam. I have helped students prepare for the TOEFL and FCE exams. During my kindergarten experience, I taught based on the Helen Doron principle. The truth is that teaching is who I am. I love the idea that someone becomes better with my help. As a person, I am really positive and open; I love having good interactions, a generally good atmosphere with my students. Creative tools and media are assets I value throughout my classes. So, I try to make my classes as enjoyable and fun as possible. I strongly believe that learning is something amazing, and a class doesn't have to be boring or feel like a burden but be a fun and constructive time.
Me as a person: I'm a very enthusiastic girl with a very curious mind. I'm interested in so many things. To name a few: I practice yoga and Pilates regularly. I have a blog, as I love writing. I am deeply interested in global citizenship education and I am currently working on developing a project aimed at connecting international schools and creating dialogues. I am a Harry Potter fangirl and I watch Formula-1 for 20 years now.
Thank you for reading this and I hope to talk to you soon! :)
